Choosing a Rewarding Occupation
People choose their occupations for different reasons: to make money, to help others, or to make the world a better place. What do you think is the most rewarding occupation you could have, excluding illegal activities?
Write a newspaper editorial to convince readers which occupation is the most rewarding and why.
As you write, remember your essay will be scored based on how well you:
  • develop a multi-paragraph response to the assigned topic that clearly communicates your thesis to the audience.

  • support your thesis with meaningful reasons and sufficient details.

  • address the readers' concerns, opposing viewpoints, or counterarguments.

  • organize your essay in a clear and logical manner, including an introduction, body, and conclusion.

  • use well-structured sentences and language that are appropriate for your audience.

  • edit your work to conform to the conventions of standard American English.

  • As there are hundreds of thousands occupations with their own advantages in the world, it is hard to say which one is better. But counting to the balance of earning for living and contribution to the society, in my opinion, I would choose to be a university professor.

However, I ever heard objection argues that university professors don't contribute to the society, they just chatter what it is already on books; though some also do researches, their effort hardly catches up with those full-time scientists on the other side.

To this point of view,  it is not likely for me to agree with. Reasons are first of all, professors effort not only display in their own work but also their students mentally and materially with uncountable papers and research reports come out every yea among which there are very inspiring ones which would incite more creative thinking for further invitation and enhancement. Professors are not the same as researchers, whose important mission is to transmit knowledge and concepts to the next generation and but not to invent something. To help students use their intelligence, teach them with methods to realize their ideas or complement their mind, professors benefit the society in their own ways.

Secondly, professors' life is a kind of boring for which is always to repeat what you have done yesterday, such as going to the university, having classes or spending time in labs and going back home. Nevertheless, if I am doing what I like everyday, no thing can make me happier. Some people  chase work which can raise their blood pressure and pump their hearts, while some just run after peaceful, quiet ones, just as apples and oranges, people have their own favor.  All matters converge to their difference in life objectives. To me, I like relaxed and stable life, hoping that I can breath fresh air and have a warm coffee every morning. If you also want such kind of life, this occupation is so fabulous. What's more, you can study the domain you like, converting your imagination or supposing into real ones no matter you want to write a book or do some experiments or else, where the world is so vivid and excited.

In sum, through teaching students and do researches, professors benefit the world and their life is interesting and has great extent of freedom, which among all stable and kind occupations, is quite good.

    =END=

In fact, I don't want to be a professor and I am just the one who think it is a job of no contribution= = Though some outstanding professors in the world are really inspiring and creative and kind and very very good! most of them just waste time and wait the university for paying their wages and so boring to wait for death..... Whatsoever, I am in the education system and play the game, so there are some rules I have to concede.....

I feel a little improvement mentally, but maybe too little to display in my writing, anyway, it is good. My logic is still not very well, I may try the 'so why so why 'module though I still not completely understand what it is...Fuck! Could anyone recommend me some books for good logic? I'll appreciate it veeeeery muuuuuch!
I got a book named sytle the lessons in clarity and grace, i just so through the first several pages, finding out that it is interesting. But I am too busy nowadays to finish it, what a pity T.T Hoping it could help me later. Thanks=]
